Lakeview Surgery Center Signs Lease for Nearly 5,000 Square Feet at Melford Town Center

Lakeview Surgery Center has signed a lease with St. John Properties, Inc. for approximately 5,000 square feet of space within Melford Town Center, a 466-acre mixed-use community located at the intersection of US Route 50 and MD Route 3/301 in Prince George’s County. The office, which will perform glaucoma and cataract surgery, will occupy 17001 Science Drive, a single-story, 30,450 square foot office building.  Approximately eight healthcare professionals will work from the new location which supports two medical offices operated by The Glaucoma Center, PC in Anne Arundel and Prince George’s Counties.  The center will celebrate its grand opening on February 8, 2018.

“It was important to find ground-level access and egress for our patients, and this location is also within close proximity to both of our medical practices in the area,” explained Dr. Alyson L. Hall who owns and operates the ophthalmology offices and surgery center in partnership with Dr. Pamela D’Souza-David. “Our research indicated a shortage of ambulatory surgery centers in the Prince George’s County region and we intend to leverage this situation with the offering of high-quality and patient-friendly services.”

“Clients are attracted to the mixed-use community at Melford Town Center, offering a strategic location near four major metropolitan areas, its immediate access to a mature transportation network and the existence of a fully-developed on-site amenity package,” explained Richard Williamson, Senior Vice President of Leasing and Marketing for St. John Properties. “These amenities will significantly improve with the opening of a new 144-room Courtyard by Marriott hotel this year that will include conference and meeting facilities and an on-site restaurant. Future plans for Melford Town Center include additional retail amenities as well as residential units.”

Melford Town Center has development capacity for approximately 550,000 square feet of office space, more than 500,000 square feet of flex/R&D space, 86,000 square feet of complementary retail space, and up to 1,800 residential units. The community is located between Annapolis and Washington, D.C.
